These beautiful pictures were taken by one of the members of our group on a Kriya Yoga retreat to India in 2017.  It was taken at the Gorakhnath temple in Haridwar. It came up in my Facebook memories today and I would like to share an experience I had on this trip.                                                             I shared this story once before a couple of years ago so I decided to share it again. On this trip to the holy city of Haridwar, our group was led by Kriya Yoga Master, Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath. Yogiraj is a Nath Yogi. The word Siddha in his name means “Perfected Being.” The Naths are a very ancient tradition who trace their origin all the way back to Lord Shiva who is regarded as Adinath, which means, the first Nath yogi.                  Yogiraj Siddhanath’s disciples simply call him Gurunath. While in Haridwar Gurunath took us to the famous Gorakhnath temple. The temple was named after probably the most famous Nath saint called Gorakhnath (also called Gorakshanath). Before we entered the temple Gurunath explained that Mahavatar Babaji incarnated as Gorakhnath in the year 70 BC.  He also said that Mahavatar Babaji is none other than Lord Shiva himself. Therefore whenever Gurunath and other Nath yogis talk about Mahavatar Babaji they refer to him as Shiva Goraksha Babaji. So the Gorakhnath temple is a very important and holy place for the Nath yogis. If you look very closely at the first picture you will see that there is a little old man standing in the background, within the red circle. We then entered the temple and were sitting there for a while. Suddenly I heard something that sounded like a bit of a commotion going on in the back of the temple. When I looked around I could see that the people in the temple were doing the pranam to someone, but I could not see who it was.  Then I saw a very old man, hunched over, slowly shuffling to the front of the temple. I say this with all respect, but when I saw him, my first thought was that this feels and looks like a scene from the movie, “The hunchback of Notre Dame.” There was something otherworldly about the old man. He then went over and talked with Gurunath for a while and eventually slowly shuffled out of the temple again.  After he left Gurunath told us that he was a saint and that he was very, very old and that he came to bring us the special blessings of Lord Shiva. A friend of mine went on another occasion also on a pilgrimage with Gurunath to the same Gorakhnath temple in Haridwar. She told me that when they were there, before they entered the temple, Gurunath told them that Mahavatar Babaji will be there in some form or the other during the aarti. They then had a similar experience with the old Sadhu entering the temple during the aarti.  Afterwards Gurunath told them that Babaji entered this old man to give darshan to his devotees. This experience gave me goosebumps. How mysterious and strange are the ways of the Divine ! Om Kriya Babaji Namah Aum ! Sabhar
